A Mostly British Obsession

Fall XJ6

1973 Jaguar XJ6 Series 1

Took a few photos of the XJ6 after giving all of the cars baths today. My 7″ headlamp conversion pieces are on the way, so this may be the last set of photos with the standard US lights. Some additional, very similar, photos after the jump.

The car trailer looks like a wise thing to own to “assist” should the XJ6 need help getting home or to a shop.
I admire your courage in owning such a car! I have retreated to Japanese cars although I still have MGs and love them. But British cars have their limitations.

I spent more on repair and maintenance bills than I did on rent each month for my XJ6. However, it is such a seductive possession I didnt mind my expensive mistress until she had sucked me dry. But the memory still lingers of her sexy shape and deep throated purr, like a young man’s first conquest…

I also admire your courage and taste. My first Jag was a 1985 XJ6 in Claret and it was a surprise 40th birthday present for my wife (read me). I now own 3 XKEs and have had one other XJ6. As I have often said, “owning an old Jag is like having an affair with a stunningly beautiful and seductive woman who has really bad breath; you’ll put up with a lot just to be with her.”

Parking next to a “rust” colored tree? I’d be a bit careful.

I feel like a virgin on prom night when I am driving my xj6. She is beautiful and exiting.
