As seen above, the carb has been dissembled, cleaned and thrown back onto the BSA Golden Flash. It was generally in OK condition, as you’d expect for what amounts to a new carb.

What a pain to get the carb back on the machine…the slide has to be assembled around the cables (in a very specific order of operations, guess how many times I attempted this), and the carb cannot be bolted into place until the slide is secured. Anyway, it’s been 20 years since I last fiddled with it, so I shouldn’t complain too much.
And as the guest vehicle is due tomorrow, I’ve cleared some space for it:
